DMCA / Takedown Requests

Tweezer responds to notices of alleged copyright infringement under the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA).

Submitting a notice

Send a notice to dmca@tweezer.dev including all of the following:

  1. The URL(s) of the allegedly infringing content on Tweezer.
  2. A description of the copyrighted work and your authority to act on the owner's behalf.
  3. Your physical address, telephone number, and email.
  4. A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized by the rights holder, its agent, or the law.
  5. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate.
  6. Your physical or electronic signature.

We act on valid notices within a reasonable time and notify the affected user.

Counter-notice

If you believe your content was removed in error, you can send a counter-notice to the same address with:

  1. The URL(s) of the removed content.
  2. A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the content was removed by mistake or misidentification.
  3. Your physical address, telephone number, email, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court in the district of your address (or, if outside the US, in any judicial district where Tweezer may be found).
  4. Your physical or electronic signature.

If we receive a valid counter-notice we may restore the content after 10–14 business days unless the original claimant files suit.

Repeat infringers

We terminate the accounts of users who repeatedly post infringing material.

Misuse

Knowingly false notices can result in personal liability under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f). Don't send one as a shortcut to silence criticism - we read them carefully.
